Kempwood is served by Bus 36 - Kempwood.
This bus travels West on Kempwood to Gessner and Beltway 8, and then to Clay Road/Westway Park.
The bus goes East on Kempwood and 34th Street to Shepherd, then on Crosstimbers to the Northline Transit Center, connecting to the Red Line light rail.
Red Line travels to U of H Downtown, downtown Houston, the Museum District, Hermann Park, Texas Medical Center, and Stadium Park (NRG Park / Rodeo), and connects to Green and Purple Lines.
The Spring Branch Trail Project is under construction. Phase 1 has been completed as of December 2020. This lets you walk or cycle from nearby Blalock Road to Wirt Road (almost 2.5mi / 3.9km) with only two road intersections. Eventually, the Project will allow for off-street cycling or walking from Kempwood to the downtown area.
Kempwood Drive includes a shared-lane bicycle path. Parking on the bike path is not permitted.
